Nikko Pelaez is a painter based in Malabon City. He studied Fine Arts at University of the East Caloocan and majored in Advertising Arts. His work is a combination of representational subject portraits and outline illustrations with experimentations of colors and shapes. Pelaez was recently named the Grand Champion of Vans Custom Culture Asia 2018, an international shoe design art competition where he bested finalists from Australia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Thailand. He is the first ever Filipino to design an official Vans release which was launched in November 2019. Pelaez has been exhibiting his works since 2017 and has been part of several group shows in Manila. He has won many awards including Manila Bulletin Sketch Fest in 2015, two Grand Prize spots at Vision Petron Competition, Artist of the Year Award in 2015 at the University of the East. was recently named the Grand Champion of Vans Custom Culture Asia 2018, an international shoe design art competition.
